  • The project “FlexBlue – Flexible cooling supply systems against the backdrop of increasing decarbonization” is investigating the technical and economic feasibility of flexibilization through storage in the cooling and heating sector. The partners from science and industry gathered on March 20 and 21, 2024 for the kick-off of the overall project funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (German: Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz, abbreviated BMWK).

As scientific consortium partner, the IAI within the Simulation and Visualization (SV) research group from the Energy System Integration (ESI) research area will be working over the next three years on the design, implementation and evaluation of two demonstrators to investigate the functionality, efficiency and cost-effectiveness of flexible cooling supply systems.

FlexBlue ties in with the preceding project “FlexKälte” within the IAI.
