  • We congratulate our former institute colleague Dr. Jorge Ángel González Ordiano for becoming a professor at the Ibero-American University (Universidad Iberoamericana Ciudad de México).

Mr González Ordiano received his Bachelor’s degree in 2014 and the Master’s degree in 2016 in Mechanical Engineering from the KIT.

He completed his dissertation at the IAI on the topic “New Data-Driven Probabilistic Forecasting Methods with Applications in Energy Systems” in 2019. His PhD research focused on using data science to aid the energy transition and he was part of the Helmholtz Association's “Energy System 2050” project.

After finishing his PhD, he joined the Colorado State University as a postdoctoral research fellow, where he worked within the lab of Professor Steve Simske. During this period, his research consisted in developing methods to combat illicit trade using data science.

As of November 2020, he joined the Universidad Iberoamericana Ciudad de México (Ibero-American University) as a full-time professor.

We congratulate Mr. González Ordiano and are happy with him.
