Mahmoud Salem was awarded the Best Poster Award at the “4th Regional Conference on Materials Science and Manufacturing Technology”, which took place from November 25-27 in Cairo, Egypt. His contribution, entitled “Assessment of Cranial Implant Reconstruction Algorithms under Augmented Data Conditions Toward Topology-Optimized and 3D-Printed Tailored Implants” presents innovative approaches to the reconstruction of cranial implants using augmented data. The aim is to develop algorithms that enable topology-optimized and patient-specific 3D printing. This represents an important step towards individually tailored implants for neurosurgery.
