A completely revised version of the Baden-Württemberg Energy Atlas was presented to the public on May 8, 2025.
The interactive online portal offers a fresh look, as it is one of the first portals to implement the state's new corporate design. But the Energy Atlas also has a lot to offer in terms of content: Information on all renewable energy sources is bundled together. The Baden-Württemberg Ministry for the Environment, Climate and the Energy Sector and the Baden-Württemberg State Institute for the Environment (LUBW) have compiled a wealth of information on the Energy Transition, in particular to clearly demonstrate the status of the transformation, but also the potential that can be exploited in the future.
Facts are displayed in dynamic, interactive diagrams and maps. IAI technology from the group “Web-based Information Systems” (WebIS) is used here: the WebIS Web Component Framework (W2C) offers a large number of components that display information based on configuration, but also allow these to interact with the user as a holistic application. In the process, the most barrier-free presentation possible and a responsive design were also implemented to ensure usability for people with disabilities and when accessing with mobile devices.
Information is usually available for all spatial levels, e.g. municipalities, districts and the whole state. The Generic Microservice Backend (GMB), which also originates from IAI's “Web-based Information Systems” (WebIS) group, processes and provides the data.
