Completed Project

Description:

The requested project deals with the applicability of the so-called economical, model predictive control for the operation of multi-modal power grids. Multi-modal power grids are complementary to existing electrical power grids, i.e. they also include thermal and chemical forms of energy. The methodological basis of the project is based on uncertainties in optimal control and optimization problems. In the end, the techniques developed as part of the project’s Smart Energy System Simulation and Control Center (SEnSSiCC), which is currently being developed by the KIT Institute of Applied Computer Science, will then be implemented and tested. The project should aid in developing techniques for the safe and efficient control of multi-module power grids.
