ZEBBRA – Event-based condition monitoring and assessment of bridges based on radar sensor technology in combination with intelligent algorithms

The overall objective of the ZEBBRA project is the development of a non-invasive, mobile, innovative measurement and methodological approach for the recording and analysis of the bridge condition during “ongoing operation” with an assessment of this condition.

The joint project ZEBBRA was applied within the framework of the programme “Research for Civil Security 2012 to 2017” in the thematic field “Civil Security - Transport Infrastructure”. An overview of the security research programme can be found at https://www.sifo.de/sifo/de/projekte/schutz-kritischer-infrastrukturen/verkehrsinfrastrukturen/zebbra-zustandserfassung-und-b--mit-intelligenten-algorithmen/zebbra-zustandserfassung-und-b--mit-intelligenten-algorithmen.html (German only).

The association consists of the Institute for Automation and Applied Informatics and the Institute for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing at KIT and two SMEs, ci-tec GmbH and the Büro für Strukturmechanik Coburg.

The working group "Reliable, safe software and systems (RS4)" is involved in all work packages and is mainly responsible for the work package "Event-based condition monitoring and assessment of bridges on radar sensor technology in combination with intelligent algorithms".
