- Project Group:
Our research group leads innovative work in printed (opto)electronics and systems using industrially-relevant printing techniques. We focus on developing advanced materials as well as cost-effective and (automated) processes for flexible, stretchable, lightweight, and high-performance (opto)electronic devices and systems, working at the intersection of chemistry, material science, electrical and mechanical engineering.
Recently, our research has concentrated on the fabrication and (automated) characterization of organic photodetectors, organic light-emitting devices, and various types of sensors. We emphasize eco-friendly aspects in printed electronics by exploring biodegradable and biocompatible materials for both, functional and passive device components. By leveraging sophisticated 2D and 3D printing techniques, we aim to revolutionize applications in fields such as wearable technology, communication, sustainable electronics, agriculture, and bioelectronics. Our research activities also extend beyond KIT to the facilities of InnovationLab GmbH (iL).
